I am excited to open my own cycling studio, Sol Pedal. To be doing what I love and have loved for the past 6 years is a blessing. Many of you have ridden many miles with me, so come back and lets travel together. Time flies as we cycle to an eclectic mix of music. I created the studio to be funky and fun, a place where you feel surrounded by happy, healthy energy.



So join the Ride. Its the only hour of your day that you can completely get away. We sweat, sing along, push each other and have a blast. Sure it's exercise, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun! After all, life is what you make it!

Thanks to all who helped with the aid station yesterday. It is always so much fun to gather inside and outside the studio and work together!

Countless hours go into training for such an event as today. One of the first male riders past our station, blew a tire. He was actually the 6th out of the water (strong athlete). This gentleman had been training for the last 15 months to prepare himself for Sunday's race and had set a goal to complete the event in under 5 hours. What may have been a quick flat fix turned into an hour or so and a complete wheel swap. Was this man disappointed or defeated? No way, he had set a goal, committed to it and hopped on his bike after the hour setback and raced off to finish as a crowd of volunteers cheered him on his way. He would no longer meet the time he set for himself, but the goal of completing the event he would attain proudly.

I love that. Some may have hung up the towel and called for support to take them in for the day - no not him. It was a lovely thing to witness.

Set a goal, be driven and flexible enough to roll with the punches and finish everything you do as strong as possible.

Sol Pedal will be staffing a water station on the biking portion of the Atlantic Coast Triathlon next Sunday, October 17th. Anyone Sol Pedalers that would like to volunteer their time that morning to hand out water, sports drinks and bananas to the bikers, please sign up at the studio or email Leslie@solpedal.com.


The aid station will be on the Amelia Concourse. Volunteer are needed between 7:30am until 11:30am. Come for a short while or the whole time. It is nice for these athletes to see friendly, encouraging faces as they have already completed an ocean swim, will be biking and still have a run to do! Join the fun next Sunday!

Atlantic Coast Triathlon is a 1/2 iron distance race = 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run

AmeliaMan Olympic Triathlon is 1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run

This "green drink" is high in fiber, low calorie, and rich in vitamins.

Ingredients:
2 cups spinach
2 cups cucumber
1 head of celery
1/2 inch or teaspoon root ginger
1 bunch parsley
2 green apples
juice of a lime
1/2 juice of lemon

Combine all ingredients into a blender. Makes 28-30 ounces or 3 to 4 servings.
